Against the backdrop of American-Chinese tension over several files, including a controversial Chinese bill on national security in Hong Kong, US President Donald Trump announced that Washington would end Hong Kong's special treatment because of China.

"There are steps we are taking that have to do with the worrying situation in Hong Kong," Trump said at a press conference in Washington Friday.
He also continued: "We will impose sanctions on Hong Kong officials, and we will begin to abolish the exemptions granted to Hong Kong," announcing "the suspension of entry of Chinese, who pose a potential threat to security to the United States."

To that he added that "China violates the agreement with Britain on Hong Kong," noting that "China's interference in Hong Kong shows that the latter is no longer independent."

He continued: "China has transformed the Hong Kong system into one in two countries, and has not kept its word on Hong Kong autonomy."

Stop relationships with "World Health Organization"

As for Corona, Trump said, "China's coverage of the Wuhan virus caused a global pandemic."

He stressed that "Beijing controls the World Health Organization," stressing: "We decided to stop relations with the World Health Organization."

He also added: "Because they failed to make the necessary and required reforms, we are ending our relationship with the World Health Organization today and redirecting these funds to other urgent public health needs in the world."

"She spied to steal our inventions."
Trump said, "China has violated intellectual property rights and the trade agreement."

He added: "China spied for years to steal our inventions. Today I move to protect our financial markets from China."

China warns
Chinese Ambassador to the United Nations, Jang Jun, warned during an informal virtual session of the UN Security Council on Friday, that "any attempt to use Hong Kong to interfere in China's internal affairs is doomed to failure."

At the meeting, at the request of Washington and London on the law on the controversial national security that Beijing wants to implement in Hong Kong, the diplomat urged "the United States and Britain to stop basing charges against China," according to a statement of the Chinese diplomatic mission.

It is noteworthy that the relationship between China and the United States, which has been experiencing a crisis for months on several levels, starting with the Corona virus, passing through the economy and Taiwan, is still continuing with tension after the Hong Kong file recently joined the list of differences.
