Venus at the height of its brightness

The head of the Jeddah Astronomical Society, Majed Abu Zahira, expected that on Friday morning, July 10, 2020, Venus will reach its peak of brightness in what is called "the greatest amount of illumination."

He pointed out that the planet will be 30 times brighter than the Poetic Star, and easily observes towards the eastern horizon with the naked eye before sunrise, as it will appear to the naked eye as a bright piece of diamond hanging in the dome of the sky, and when seen through the telescope its disk will look like a crescent moon.

And Abu Zahira showed that the maximum luminosity of a flower comes 36 days after reaching the lower conjugation on the third of last June and 36 days before reaching its great western morning elongation.

He pointed out that Venus is at its highest brightness when its disk is only 25% lit by sunlight and not fully lit, and the reason is that the planet is closer to Earth at that time.
