ighalo

Manchester United Football Club announced Monday to extend the loan contract of Nigerian striker Odeon ighalo of Shanghai Xinhua team.

Manchester United said on its official website that it had reached an agreement with the Chinese club, to keep Igalo on the ranks of the English team on loan for a longer period.

Manchester explained that the Ijalo loan loan was supposed to expire at the end of last May, but according to the new agreement, the player will remain in the team until the end of January 2021, which gives the player an opportunity to continue his strong offers with the English team that he has been encouraging since his youth.

Igalo has scored four goals during eight matches with Manchester so far, and has scored at least one of each of his three participations in the starting lineup, in the matches against Belgian club Bruges (one goal), Derby County (two goals) and Austrian Lask Linz (one goal).

Shanghai officials had offered to extend the Igalo contract last March in exchange for a weekly salary of 400,000 pounds, noting that the current player’s contract would expire in December 2022.

Under the new deal, Igalo will miss the half of the Chinese league season, which is due to start this month, as he will return to the team at the end of January next year.

The English Premier League had stopped since last March, due to the repercussions of the spread of the emerging Corona virus "Covid-19" before it was decided to resume on June 17.
