Filming of soap operas and films in California will resume on June 12, under strict hygiene, the state governor's office announced.
However, the production must be pre-authorized by the health officials in the respective provinces. It should also be taken into account, in particular, "local epidemiological data", the results of tests on the population and the ability to deal with a new wave of infections with Covid-19 epidemic.
"To reduce the risk of a pandemic transmission, production teams, actors and other professionals in the sector will have to comply with security protocols" that may be strengthened by local authorities, the office said.
But nothing indicates that major Hollywood studios will be able to relaunch their productions starting next week because Los Angeles and the surrounding area is one of the main centers of the Covid-19 outbreak in the state with about half of the injuries and deaths recorded.
So far, California has recorded more than 125,000 infections, and 4,500 deaths.
