A doctor set off a surprise: the autopsy did not prove that Floyd died of suffocation

The case of George Floyd’s death in  Minneapolis continues to interact. In what is new is what the pathologist announced that the initial autopsy of Floyd's body did not find any evidence that he had died of suffocation, after his neck was pressured by the former policeman, Derek Chauvin, for more than 8 minutes.

In a statement issued by the District Court of Hennepin, published by the New York Times, the preliminary results of Floyd's autopsy revealed no physical evidence of suffocation.

And it is likely that the cause of his death was due to his suffocation, in addition to the health conditions that he was suffering from and the potential alcohol content in his body.

Based on this conclusion, Chauvin was charged with a third degree murder and a second degree unintentional killing, which is equivalent to a maximum sentence of 35 years.

However, the George Floyd family wanted stricter accusations against the officer that went as far as first degree murder, a charge that requires prosecutors to prove that Derek Schofen intended to kill George Floyd.
The family of George Floyd hired their pathologist to perform a separate autopsy. The Floyd family revealed that they hired the famous pathologist Dr. Michael Baden to perform a second independent autopsy, noting that the basic health conditions mentioned in the official report are "an illusion"
